| I think Kaspersky is the best atm but sophos is a good AV too...Maybe Kaspersky needs more resorces of ram and cpu (never installed Sophos). Norton isn't an antivirus...he doesn't find anything...blah! |

| None of em above... all to easy to avoid detection. nod32 is nais ok... but best scanner today is G-Data Anti_Viren_Kit_2006 it has a very good heuristic-search plus kaspersyk plus bitdefender engine in one machine. ... thats really hard to fool ![]() |

| I was used to host Symantec on my machine for my past experiences. Infact I had Kaspersky AV on computers in a LAN and got the Netsky wirus spreading all over the LAN, making fun of the Kaspersky AV. When I installed Norton, it did recognize and block the virus. Nowadays I heard situation is pretty different. Symantec is easy to fool indeed and infact I tried ClamAV which is not good according to me for Windows product. It doesn't recognize so many hostile files. F-Secure is the best choice for quality/price and it does share its db with Kaspersky guys. NOD32 I heard is good enough especially for home users. @class101: You forgot to mention the Trend Micro Officescan which is a very good AV according to me. Quote:
Symantec Norton can be stopped with Net Stop. I tested these once only My 2 cents Yog ClamAV can bill stopped with Net Stop. |
