| What is KeePass? Today you need to remember many passwords. You need a password for the Windows network logon, your e-mail account, your homepage's ftp password, online passwords (like CodeProject member account), etc. etc. etc. The list is endless. Also, you should use different passwords for each account. Because if you use only one password everywhere and someone gets this password you have a problem... A serious problem. The thief would have access to your e-mail account, homepage, etc. Unimaginable. KeePass is a free/open-source password manager or safe which helps you to manage your passwords in a secure way. You can put all your passwords in one database, which is locked with one master key or a key-disk. So you only have to remember one single master password or insert the key-disk to unlock the whole database. The databases are encrypted using the best and most secure encryption algorithms currently known (AES and Twofish). For more information, see the features page. | Well it really look like a nice software BUT.... I personally don't like password managers. You'll have to crack one password to have them all in your hands. You know what I mean? I'd rather prefer to use the old fashioned method of writing them on a paper, locked up in a drawer into my room. ![]() Yog |

| not really because the way I use it is in an environment already secured. I mean the keepass database in a file is encrypted itself, and I use another free open source application (TrueCrypt) to store this database on a virtual HDD itself encrypted and password protected. And in addition I have planned to register for a product used a lot in enterprises wich is SafeGuard Easy, this will encrypt both of my physcical laptop HDD for an ultimate protection (www.utimaco.us), keeping physical HDD unaccessible without another passwd and of course with the common windows login passwd, I know this does a lot of password but this is near unbreakable. |
